A lot of famous people did have a lot of big failures throughout their lives. But they kept on believing in themselves. These people gave themselves the space to experiment and they kept on acting upon their believes. In that sense I have to say, that Anthony Robbins is down right when he says that personal power is all about the ability to take action.
Here are some famous people who “failed”:
It seems that these people did not get affected by their failures, but in some sort of way it gave them fuel to fulfill their goals. Even the great Leonardo da Vinci has had tremendous failures throughout his life. Unfortunately we can not see his painting in the sixteen chapel, because the paint already came off after a week or so. Unfortunately, for him and fortunately for us, his rival Michelangelo did not try to use new revolutionary painting techniques!
A failure of Leonardo da Vinci
Or what about the yearly festival in Florence that Leonardo had to organize. Because the whole city needed food for this festival, Da Vinci developed an ‘efficiency tool’ known as an early version of a conveyer belt, long before Henry Ford used this device for his mass production of the T-Ford. On top of that, Da Vinci developed a fire system. So when there would be fire in the kitchen, the problem would be fixed right after.
But when the cooks used the fire in a normal way, while preparing food for a few thousand people, the fire extinguisher flushed away not only the fire, but also all the food for the complete festival!!
Was this a big failure or what? I guess you can call this a failure, for sure! He did, but on the other hand he never, ever, ever stopped experiment and live his dream…
Fear of Failures
Sometimes it is hard, sometimes we fear the consequences of possible failures. Also a lot of times we don’t know how to discover our passions. What is our dream, what kind of goals do we want to set? The funny thing is that when we want to get motivated, for big things. We tend to look only at the positive side of motivation.. that is: ‘where we want to go’. But a lot of times our pain prevents us knowing exactly what our dreams and goals are.
This, we can reverse! Pain and how you avoid pain shows you where your shadow parts are. To get motivated, to have passion, to know and live your dream, we need to be aware of our pain, and how our avoidance of pain can motivate us!!! In other words our pain can help us achieve our goals and dreams, a life of passion is you want!
Life can be hard
Sometimes life can be hard, it can be hard to motivate us. A man who can tell you all about it, is Nick:
Do you live your dreams?
Failures CAN be seen as feedback to ‘finish strong’ and or fulfill your dreams. Do you live your passion and do what really want deep down inside?
That can be a problem, because a lot of people, as they frequently tell me don’t know what there passion in life is. In that way I would say, if you fail for a thousand times to find your passion in life, does that mean that you will never find it?
Imagine: how would it be…
Ever imagined how you would be, if you had passion or even more passion in your work, life and hobby’s? How would that be? how would you then think about yourself and the world, what would you see, and what would you want to see and what would you do? How would your life be as if you already found your passion in your work, study, sports or other hobby’s?
Try things, do things, believe in yourself and please make mistakes, because there is no real failure, there is only feedback!
